Behind every breathtaking landscape photo lies a story—not just of the scene, but of the person who captured it. In this special feature, we share the journeys of the outstanding photographers whose images rose above the rest in our Landscape Photo Contest. From remote mountain ranges to northern lights landscapes, these visual storytellers transported us around the world with a single frame. Now, it’s time to meet the talented individuals behind the lens.

GRÉGOIRE PANSU

GRÉGOIRE PANSU

I’m Grégoire, a landscape photographer from a small village near the French Alps. While I recently completed my studies in political science, history, economics, and management between Lyon and Paris, I’ve always felt more at home surrounded by mountains than by city life. I’m naturally curious, and happiest when exploring wild places with my camera and tripod. Outside photography, I’m also into powerlifting, philosophy, classical music and sci-fi as well as fantasy literature.

My love for photography was seeded early by my father, who always had a camera around his neck. I was offered a small camera as a child, but didn't use it too much during my teenage years. It wasn’t until a solo trip in 2019 that I truly got into it. I started with a smartphone and quickly realized I needed something more serious to capture what I saw. Since then, photography has gone from a hobby to a true vocation and in just a few years, I’ve built a professional portfolio and I am now growing a photography business as I aspire to make this my career.

I specialize in fine art landscape photography. My goal isn’t just to document a location, but to translate what I felt being there. I’m inspired by romantic painters who idealized nature, and I aim to do the same through bright, dreamy images that emphasize light, texture, and emotion. I often work with advanced techniques like time blending and focus stacking, but for me, gear and software are only tools. The heart of my process is still the human experience — chasing light, hiking through storms, waiting hours for the right moment.

Photography, to me, is a way to slow down and really see the world. It forces me to be present and appreciate nature’s fleeting moments — whether it's the glow of sunrise on a mountain ridge or the restless energy of an angry sea. I don’t share many images from each trip; I focus on quality over quantity, and I’m a perfectionist. Each image tells its own story, and I want that story to resonate with those who see it.

DÁVID PALICKA

DÁVID PALICKA

My name is Dávid Palička, and I’m a passionate architecture and interior photographer. I currently shoot with a Sony A7 III, usually paired with a wide-angle lens to capture the spaces and structures that fascinate me most. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me exploring cities, wandering into old buildings, or geeking out over design details most people walk right past.

My journey with photography started when I was 14 years old. It was Christmas, and I still remember the excitement of unwrapping my first digital compact camera — a gift from my parents. It was a little Olympus that sparked something big in me. From that moment, I started to notice light differently. Shadows became deeper, lines more intentional. I started chasing not just photos, but moments that could tell a story.

Architecture quickly became my favorite subject. There's something captivating about the way buildings speak without saying a word — through materials, angles, and the way they frame the light. I love capturing these unspoken narratives, especially the way space and form interact with their environment. Photographing interiors also allows me to tell stories of function, beauty, and the people who inhabit these spaces, even when they’re not in the frame.

My aspirations as a photographer are simple but meaningful: to continue evolving my craft and share stories that make others pause — even for a second. I’d love to one day work with architectural studios and publications across Europe, helping them communicate the soul of their designs through my lens.

To me, photography is a form of meditation. When I’m shooting, I’m fully present — watching how sunlight slips across a wall, how symmetry creates calm, or how an unexpected detail brings life into the frame. It’s a moment of quiet focus in a loud world.

Enrico Curti

ENRICO CURTI

Hello ! My name is Enrico, I am originally from Italy but I have lived in Norway since 2014: I love traveling, nature, hiking, skiing, photography of course and pretty much those are the reasons that made me move to Norway back in the days.

Fun fact, I did not really start with landscape photography at once: until 2018 I was just taking some pictures during my travels more as a memory rather than chasing a great shot to bring home, but then, by the end of 2018, I took a road trip to some of the most famous fjords (Geirangerfjord, Hjørundfjord and more) and that was the spark that made me going deeper into landscape photography !

At the start of this new journey, it was quite messy: I did not really know what type or style fitted me the best, so I tried many different approaches and went out many times just to shoot whatever, really! Eventually, after the first 2-3 years and many different attempts, I started to focus more on wide angle views, moody weather and nightscape and today these types are basically almost all my photos.

I love wide angles views because that is the way I love the most to represent a landscape that caught my eyes and mind; moody weather is quite dominant here where I live in West Norway and in my opinion, that is what picture the best the idea of Norway; the night is also something mystic that fascinates me every time and another quite dominant condition during the dark winter season. Generally speaking, when I am going out to shoot photos, it is finally a moment for myself when I can be alone and have my mind completely free, lightened from everyday life's problems: it is a sort of healing my brain needs from time to time. Of course coming home with a good photo is rewarding, but the main goal is having a good time and enjoying my time in nature, photography is just an excuse to get out and a tool to explore something new and unleash creativity !

I hope I did not make you bored reading a bit about me, and if you are more interested about my work you can follow me on instagram at https://www.instagram.com/enrico_curti_landscapes/ or on my website https://curtienrico.com/
